Poof was scheduled for surgery this morning, but last night he had a seizure and his heart stopped. He was at the vet hospital with caregivers on hand, and they did everything they could to save him, but were unable to do so. We are all very sad here, but we wanted to get the information up.
We do still have veterinary expenses for him, so we're paying part of those with donations. We'll still have a balance, so if you're here and want to donate, we can still use it, and we thank everyone who has helped Poof get the care he needed.
All of us here, from Poof's family (and Poof) to the volunteers at Sierra Cares, appreciate your caring and support. Without you, Poof would never have even had this chance. Thank you from all of us.

Oh... I only just learned about Poof today, and so sad to hear he has passed on. He sounds like a wonderful fellow. He looks very much like Henry, an exceptional cat I have the pleasure of living with. Hugs to all the humans who love Poof and are missing him... I know he's purring in Heaven when he things of you.
I am very sorry about your loss. Poof looked like a lovely cat and friend. You'll be in my thoughts.
Poor Poof :(
I hope my contribution met you well.
I am so sorry for the loss of your Poofter! What a fine beastie he is. I fully understand your loss & know how heartwrenching it is to lose such a fine friend. Although the pain eases with time, such dear friends are not soon forgotten, but we must open our hearts to new friends. I am hoping that you will be able to find a new furry friend to share your life with, as there are so many wonderful, however different, beasties in need of love & comfort. Why not make a memorial page for Poof at catster.com to help remember him? You can connect with many others who know your pain & help you through these times.
Sweet Poof. I know you will still communicate with your Mom the way you always have. She still needs you, and she loves you with all of her heart. Please make sure she knows that you are alright now, not in pain, and doing well where you are.
oh my god i am so sorry to read that so sorry
