A final post...
Holly (or Kiley), Poof's mom, has also passed on. Her ashes and Poof's have been spread together at one of their favorite places. We miss you both, and I take some comfort in the fact that I am sure you are together now. You were, and are, much loved and missed.

Sad news...
Poof was scheduled for surgery this morning, but last night he had a seizure and his heart stopped. He was at the vet hospital with caregivers on hand, and they did everything they could to save him, but were unable to do so. We are all very sad here, but we wanted to get the information up.
We do still have veterinary expenses for him, so we're paying part of those with donations. We'll still have a balance, so if you're here and want to donate, we can still use it, and we thank everyone who has helped Poof get the care he needed.
All of us here, from Poof's family (and Poof) to the volunteers at Sierra Cares, appreciate your caring and support. Without you, Poof would never have even had this chance. Thank you from all of us.

Surgery is scheduled!
Sorry I haven't updated this lately, but the human who does the typing for me had a death in the family. She's back now and updating you on where we are which is - IDAHO!
My tests were starting to go downhill, so last weekend my mom decided, after talking to her human friends, that even though only about 1/3 of the money was raised, that she was just going to load me up and drive to the vet hospital (2 or 3 days from home, depending on how fast you drive) and go, and have faith that we'd be OK when we got there.
We got here safely, and now have a bit over half the money raised. They say I'm a good candidate, and the surgery is scheduled for Wednesday. By the time we got here, half of the money was raised for the first part of my care. My mom signed a piece of paper promising that she'll pay the rest somehow - she said something about bake sales until the end of time - and they're gonna do it.
It's a tough surgery, so please have really good thoughts for me, and think of me Wednesday morning. Whatever your beliefs are, just help me out however you can, please. Mom and I are gonna need you.
Much love to everyone,
Poof

Wednesday Walk!
Went for another walk with mom today. I settled in under a really cool shade tree on our front lawn that Uncle Kelly & Aunt Della planted. I really love it. Thank you guys. I get to sit there and look out over our mountain. Mom sits in the chair above me and works on her stuff. What a nice way to spend the day. I almost caught a bird today, but it was too hard with my leash. That’s okay; it was pretty to look at. I think mom said it was a Blue Jay; we have lots of them here. I will have mom take some pictures of me under MY tree, so you can what I’m looking at.

Tuesday, morning:
Here comes mom with more medicine. I haven’t seen this one for awhile. It sure tastes good and is really easy to take. I think she calls it Homeopathic. It really helped my kidney values before and I know I felt better on it along with my other stuff. Mom puts the little pills in a syringe with water, they dissolve, and she squirts it in my mouth…taste kind of sweet…another yummy. Davina, Davina, what a pretty name. She is the lady who helps all animals; mom says her company is in Australia. I hear their stuff has helped hundreds of pets like me. I hope I get to visit with her someday.

Well *I* think they're yummy. If you don't, then it means more for me!
It’s Monday morning, in August.
Mom must really love me, because I got sardines today. Yum, yum.
I know they make my breath smell, and yet mom still kisses me.
Between you and me, I think she must like them, because I always see her smell the can and make a funny face. I think that face means she likes the little fishes too.
My appetite is much, much better today. Mom always knows how to get me wanting more.
